Vitamin K deficiency diagnosis:

Usually in order to check if a patient suffers from vitamin K deficiency the prothrombin time test is performed. In people who do not suffer from vitamin K deficiency the prothrombin time is more or less 13 second, whereas for people with vitamin K deficiency the test may take several minutes. A sample of patient’s blood is placed in a fibrometer in so as to measure the time of blood-clot formation.
